What’s in a name?

In Italian, Fritto Misto simply means “mixed fry.” But don’t let the simplicity fool you — this dish has roots stretching back generations, where it was once the centerpiece of humble seaside meals and Sunday gatherings along the Mediterranean coast.

Traditionally, fritto misto was a way to celebrate whatever came in fresh that day — little fish, bits of squid, vegetables, sometimes even meat. Lightly battered and fried in olive oil, it was rustic, crunchy, and meant to be shared. Each bite told a story of local waters, honest ingredients, and meals that brought people together.

The Gallery’s Take on the Classic

Our Seafood Fritto Misto honors that tradition, but — like everything we do — we gave it a Gallery twist.

Here’s what you’ll find on your plate:

  • Colossal Tiger Shrimp – big, juicy, and the star of the show

  • J.I. Calamari – tender and crisp with every bite

  • Atlantic Salmon – our personal twist; meaty, rich, and unexpected

  • Green Olives – for a salty, briny contrast

  • Spicy Cherry Peppers – to wake up the palate and add some fire

  • Roasted Garlic Aioli & House Marinara – because one sauce just isn't enough

Lightly dredged and flash-fried for that perfect golden crunch, the seafood is never greasy — just crispy, warm, and ready for dipping.

Why It Works

Fritto misto is a dish that plays with texture and contrast: hot meets cool, crispy meets creamy, salty meets sweet. It’s meant to be passed around the table, stolen with fingers, and dipped into whatever sauce your fork lands near.

At The Gallery, it’s not just a small plate — it’s a conversation starter, a pairing dream, and a love letter to Italy with a Northeastern PA attitude.

Best enjoyed with:

  • A crisp Sauvignon Blanc

  • A cold draft
